This event was sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation and organized by the Haiti Development Institute. The event aimed to increase the impact of philanthropy in Haiti by supporting sustainable models for economic and social development. There were plenty of networking opportunities to meet investors in Haiti, as well as those seeking to enter the space, which made this an exciting opportunity for HANWASH, as we are small and growing fast and eager to connect with like minds.

Fritz had the opportunity to meet with the director of our partner Hope for Haiti, the head of international NGO Helvetas, and other leaders of organizations working in the country. He also participated in discussions and breakout sessions, sharing the HANWASH message of working with Haitian leaders and civil society organizations on a locally-owned approach to water and sanitation. Fritz found that people resonated with his talk because ‘HANWASH is a model that is different from the norm.’
